our mission
Connections creates a friendly, tolerant and open-hearted environment for businesswomen to come together for mutual support and community. We believe that good business is built on sound relationships that evolve over time.
Women creating more than business as usual — our distinct approach focuses on giving, not just what we are getting. We believe that when we think of how we can serve each other, how we can contribute, we are grounded in our value and worth. We find that an attitude of generosity fosters a supportive and productive atmosphere that strengthens our professional community and connection.
This compassionate, supportive approach is the heart of Connections: giving in balance with getting. And since we also focus on giving to our community, we create a triple win for all who participate.
our history
In 1994 a dedicated group of women joined together to create a women’s business organization that would support the growing businesswomen’s needs — and so Connections was formed.
In addition to supporting each other, the founding members were committed to making a contribution to the community by providing scholarships to women returning to college and by raising funds for community service projects that supported women and girls.
This open forum for professional women was distinctive in that it was volunteer-run and the bylaws placed no limits on the number of people per profession or required members to generate leads.
The approach has been successful. Today, as one of the oldest professional women’s organizations in Sonoma County, Connections continues as a thriving network of extraordinary women.
