2017—Our Year for Growing Community

We are at an important time in history, and now more than ever we have the opportunity to act in alignment with our hearts and affect our future. It is the belief that we can make a difference that underlies Connections’ new focus for 2017 — Growing Community.

Connections serves to bring professional women together, into community with each other. We forge new relationships, fortify existing connections, and nurture our sense of belonging and purpose in the professional world.  And as we extend our connections outward, the work we do grows exponentially.

As a member-led organization, we all have a chance to bring this year’s focus to life. At Board meetings, we’ve tossed around ideas of how to include our good works partners more within our organization, grow our membership, and find ways to include all our members in making decisions for the organization. We are after all, better together.

The stronger Connections becomes, the better able we are to positively influence other women and girls in our larger community. And the stronger we are the better we can support women in the middle of life transitions, women who need shelter and food, women who want to go back to college, women who want to grow themselves so they can share their special gifts. The stronger we are the more support we can offer girls to be bolder, prouder, and more certain that this world belongs to them.

With tolerance, open minds, and a welcoming attitude, the women of Connections can affect change. Through our small but meaningful contributions, we turn our focus to growing community. We look forward to expanding our professional network and community influence through heartfelt relationships.

Won’t you join us?

Warmly,
The Connections Board of Directors

Ambassador Training a Huge Success

Thanks to Linda Basso and Diana Morgan for sharing their marketing expertise at the March Ambassador Workshop—an educational opportunity for Connections members. This three-hour event brought into focus this year’s goal—Growing Community—by emphasizing how we can expand our network authentically. Increasing our Connections group is not about selling memberships, but about reaching the professional women who would benefit from our style of support and community involvement.

If you want to know more about how to market from the heart, get in touch with Linda or Diana.
